i guess i must be crazy.

i don't like gnarls barkley at all.

i already wasn't a fan of any of ceelo's solo efforts and i can count his collaborations with DF and others that i fancy on one hand. (liberation, slum beautiful, cell therapy...)
his voice annoys the shit out of me & it's especially bothersome when he's singing.

but really i wish everyone would shut up about them.
and yo, after seeing his daughter on my sweet 16, i really don't endorse this guy. that and the fact that my brother, who works as a curbside check-in service person at the atlanta air port, once assisted cee-lo with his bags to his car, more than likely because he thought it would render tips, and said he was disgusted because the car's interior was disgusting and filled with trash and snacks and shit..and he gave a shitty tip.

anyway pull up to my bumper is #1 in my itunes and i just uploaded it today.

LOL!

i've mostly tried not to talk about my feelings about Gnarls Barkley because i REALLY do not want to hate, but i feel like there's something very cynical about the thing. like as if they saw how Moby cleaned up with "Play" and deliberately made an album of music to be licensed for car commercials.

i think Cee-Lo is a great singer, though.

which "Pull Up To The Bumper" are you listening to, though? Grace's or Patra's?

you know, thats exactly what those songs are, soundtrack music for an ad.

anyway, grace jones. although it's funny that you questioned the distinction. my father is a dub head and my mother is the black glam experimentalist..so growing up he'd play the patra version and more often than not it would remind my mother of Island Life & she'd bust out the record player and we'd listen to it on vinyl.
at any rate, I think I'm with mom on this one.

you know, aside from his collabos with 'Kast and good ole Goodie Mo B, I was never a fan of Carlito's solo ish... but I am definitely feelin this one.

also, he recently cut a track with some friends of mine (maybe that has something to do with it?) and I can't help but like that one as well. (and it's been catching mad fiya on youtube and in the local online circles.)

btw, I was thinking Patra as well. haha.
